Moonstone Studio

Moonstone Studio is a 3-star resort in Haad Rin on Koh Phangan, set on a small hill with studios overlooking the sea. Palm trees frame the hillside setting, and Haad Rin Nai Beach is about a three-minute walk away. The Full Moon Party venue is roughly a 10-minute walk from the resort, with local dining outlets within a similar walking distance.

The three room types range from a 26 m² Studio for two to a 49 m² Superior Apartment for three, with a 28 m² Studio Apartment between them. All have sea and garden views, a balcony or terrace, air conditioning, a private bathroom and a flat-screen TV. The Studio Apartment includes a sofa, while the Superior Apartment has a separate bedroom, a walk-in shower and a tea and coffee maker.

Facilities include a bar, garden, sun terrace, hot tub and massage services, alongside options such as canoeing, fishing, snorkelling and diving. Free WiFi is available in rooms, but the resort has no parking. Payment before arrival is required by bank transfer, with instructions sent after booking.

Across the three room types, shared features include sea and garden views, a balcony or terrace, air conditioning, a private bathroom and a flat-screen TV. The Studio measures 26 m² and accommodates two people; the Studio Apartment measures 28 m² and accommodates up to three, with a sofa. The Superior Apartment is the largest at 49 m² and also accommodates three. Each room has shower facilities, towels and a hairdryer.

The Studio is the smallest option, while the Studio Apartment adds sofa seating and room for a third person. The Superior Apartment has a separate bedroom and a tea and coffee maker, and its flat-screen TV receives satellite channels. The Studio Apartment also has a refrigerator. A safety deposit box is available in each room, alongside the private outdoor space and views shared across the range.

The resort’s leisure facilities span the garden and sun terrace, with outdoor furniture for sitting outside and BBQ facilities on site. A bar accompanies happy hour and evening entertainment, while water sport facilities on site add to the choice of activities. Snorkelling, diving, cycling, canoeing and fishing are available, and the tour desk can help with local arrangements. A hot tub and massage services provide a quieter alternative after time outdoors.

Rooms have air conditioning, a private bathroom, a view, a balcony or terrace, a flat-screen TV and free WiFi. Room service and a shuttle service are also available. Non-smoking rooms are part of the accommodation options. There is no parking at the resort, so transport to Haad Rin needs to be arranged separately.

Haad Rin occupies Koh Phangan’s southern tip, where Haad Rin Nai is known as Sunset Beach and Haad Rin Nok as Sunrise Beach. Moonstone Studio stands on a small, palm-lined hill above Haad Rin Nai, with sea views from the rooms and common areas. Guest feedback notes steep access. Local dining outlets are about a 10-minute walk away, and beaches and village services cluster around the southern end of Haad Rin.

Haad Rin Queen ferry terminal is 900 m away. Its direct boat from Bangrak on Koh Samui takes around 20–30 minutes; from the landing, the final approach climbs the hill to the resort. Koh Phangan’s main car-ferry arrivals are at Thong Sala, while Haad Rin Queen gives Samui travellers a direct southern-island connection. Samui International Airport is 13.4 km away. There is no parking at Moonstone Studio. Check-in runs from 14:00 to 21:00, and the resort asks you to share your expected arrival time in advance.

Haad Rin Nai is 400 m from Moonstone Studio; Haad Rin Nok is 1000 m away, and the Full Moon Party venue is 1.1 km away. Haad Yuan, 1.8 km away, is among nearby coves without road access and is reached by boat from Haad Rin. Snorkelling, diving, canoeing and fishing are among the island activities. Koh Phangan’s driest, calmest period generally runs from February to April; seas on the east coast can be rough in November and December.
